HEIRLOOM RAG DOLLS
I've always played with dolls, whether they were Masters of the Universe, Barbies, or Smurfs. I had one special doll, though - a rag doll raccoon wearing red overalls and a little cap. I carried it with me everywhere. When my daughter was born, we got her a little dog that she named "Black Dog" - it was brown. She carried it everywhere too and we had to go on a major hunt at the mall when she lost it one day. Thankfully we found it, or we never would have gotten to sleep that night. Even my husband has his childhood teddy bear to this day. I remember using little scraps of fabric leftover from my mother's sewing projects to hand stitch some janky little dolls that I'd play with in a homemade cardboard house when I was a kid, and loved every minute of it.

I always knew I wanted to create some rag dolls that could be carried by children, or enjoyed by adults. These are true rag dolls, made using fabric scraps, vintage linens or reclaimed clothing.
