I have been wanting to live that creative life for a long time, but I have been so busy working on other people's creative projects that I haven't had the chance to do anything just for myself. I’ve decided that there’s no better time to prioritize my own creative practice. By creating this studio, I hope to hold myself accountable and make time for my own artistic pursuits. I have countless ideas for what I want to create and share.

Why Forget-Me-Nots?

 

When life gets tough, it can be difficult to remember the good things and little moments that make it worth living. However, focusing on these things may help shift our mindset and improve our mood. While some people journal or run for this purpose, I find solace in creating art. By capturing moments from my life in art, I hope to create some happy memories that I can always look back on. I also hope that my art will inspire you to remember and cherish the special moments in your own life. So, I am excited to share my art with you and hope that it will serve as a reminder to never forget the good things in life, to hold onto your forget-me-nots.

 

Fun facts about me:

• Born, raised and still living in Prince George, BC

• Went to art school years ago but quit after growing to despise the term “artist”. I’m working to reclaim what that means to me now.

• Spent most of my career in public relations, post-secondary programming, brand development, graphic design and communications.

• Most recently opened an adorable business @themakerie.pg but closed the brick and mortar for many reasons. Still doing a variety of creative services under that banner while we resolve some things and make big decisions.

• Mama to one grown-ass human and two fur babies.

• Wifey.

• My “studio” is my kitchen table, couch, bed, local cafe, business meeting or anywhere else I can get away with it.
